Stayed overnight on way back south from Scotland. Not the prettiest location, but handy. The hotel was very tidy and well run; everyone was very helpful and friendly so it was a comfortable stay.

The food was good enough, if unexciting. Personally, we prefer something a little cosier in decor - I am sure it is fine for the business fraternity!

I stay often at HI around the world. This one is one of the better ones, very clean, nice kitchen, friendly staff. Car park is a nightmare, not enough spaces so people double park and block you in. But that's people, not the hotel. Needs to come to an arrangement with the multi-story nearby.

Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Nice food and good room service. Had a pleasant stay and would stay again happily. Car park is frustratingly small although you can park in the bus station car park at a cost. Some guests did decide to park in the car park even though there were no spaces making it difficult to get out occasionally.

The hotel is decent with well maintained clean rooms. You get all you would expect from a budget hotel. The car park is a little cramped. When we reached, there was no space available but we had no issues. They suggested we park behind another car and that they would call us in case we had to move the car. But we did not have to. Next morning when we went for breakfast, spaces were available and we moved our car.

If you are driving to the hotel, then the entrance is actually a little confusing. We had to take 2 rounds to get in because our GPS did not guide us to the entrance. You turn left from the main road and the immediately turn left again but this left is a little to the inside so you may not see it in time. And if you do miss it, then the road you would have taken is a one way. So we had to get back on the main road and turn again. Its not as simple as it may sound.

Breaskfast was a standard buffet. Nothing great, but then no surprises either. Dinner was not good. Or maybe whatever we ordered was just horrible. Wifi connectivity and speed was good. The staff was very kind and check in/check out was very smooth. We forgot a couple of toiletries and the staff were very helpful with providing these. We would happily stay over here again.

Ok for an overnight - but no longer....

Room was small - but well maintained.

Double glazed - so no major traffic noise.

Mini gym was basic - no treadmill?

Bar and restaurant good service and quality.

Free wifi an added extra...

Limited on site parking - get there early!

The hotel is easy to find once leaving the motorway, despite the confusing one way ring road system. On arriving, the car parking facilities are poor with nowhere near the enough spaces for the amount of guest the hotel can accommodate. We resorted to parking outside the front entrance to enquiry further about overflow parking. We were told by the receptionist that the bus station car park was the only other place to park which you had to pay for, even though when booking this hotel online through their website you have to pay a parking fee which is non negotiable. We queried this with the receptionist, who didn't believe us; luckily we had the booking form which we presented to her as proof. She then reluctantly provided us with a parking permit for the bus station car parking. So if you were lucky enough to park your car in the holiday inn car park you are unnecessarily paying for car parking. The bus station car park doesn't appear the safest car park in the word, but on returning to it the next morning it was fine. The walk however is ridiculous from the car park to the hotel as at the time building work was going on, not what you want when you've got cases to carry back. Once getting in the room it was very nice, exactly what you expect from a holiday inn although the room overlooked the ring road but that wasn't a problem for us. We decided to dine in the restaurant as we didn't know the area well. When arriving in the bar that leads to the restaurant we were told that the restaurant was fully booked but we could have the restaurant menu in the bar, which was a much quieter setting. The meals were nice and reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly too. However, it took 45 minutes for pudding to come out - a crumble and a cheesecake which is unacceptable! Overall a good night stay.

Stayed one night as we had an event to go to the One bar/restaurant, so in easy walking distance. The room was very dated and in need of updating. It was also very hot, the heat hit it you as soon as you opened the door. We ate the bar the food was very good.

Stayed over Bank holiday weekend as part of a tour. Hotel was clean and bright the main areas looked like they had recently been re- carpeted /decorated. Young staff in dining room were hard working and friendly as were the staff in the bar. Bar prices for food and drink were on the high side and limited in choice. Bed was comfortable.
