Everything about today was fantastic! As it was a sunny, warm afternoon, we decided to explore somewhere new. 30 min drive was all it took before we found ourselves parking up at the zoo. It was bigger than expected with lots to see! Absolutely loved the "Lions of India" theme scattered around the place. Not many people around on a week day - but we preferred that! Had yummy delights at the Bear Cafe. Saw all the animals, especially the tiger who showed itself near the end. The place is great for families (kiddies especially), and many people brought their own picnic treats to enjoy. Another bonus is the dinosaur section, which houses life-sized dino-bots! Their were informative talks on various animals all day and a bird show exhibit. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the souvenir shop. With the theme, I was excited to get some posters of the designs or a tote bag, but all they had was a pin and giant magnet. The designs from the "Lions of India" theme, like the lion, bear etc was so beautiful - I would've loved something more from that. Alternatives were made, though! Shout out to Jade, who served us in the shop at the end/beginning - she was super friendly and helped us out! I'm definitely coming back with my professional camera!!

Lovely zoo, they have really put some hard work in and some money!
Dinosaurs are the best I have seen and my daughter loved it.

But

It's very expensive and to be charged again to go on the train is not very fair after paying 80+ for three of us to get in.

Fantastic day out! Incredibly clean, lots of benches/seating areas. Lovely little park and splash pad. Food was expensive but quite a lot of choice throughout the park. Toilets were everywhere. Thoughtful layout of the zoo itself. Staff were very friendly. Very worth the cost!

Great experience of meeting the Meerkat. On initially meeting in the Zoo HQ we had a fabulous greet from Maisie, with a brew and brief chat about the zoo history. Emily was our keeper and was absolutely excellent. She certainly knows her stuff and made us feel very comfortable and safe with the meerkats.
The zoo itself is amazing, really well planned out, engaging and the animals are well cared for in clean and spacious enclosures. We also saw the bird display which was fascinating. All in all a fabulous day. We even got to meet the famous Peter, who was checking on the tiger at the time!

Went for a birthday gift of a big cat feed, Claire was knowledgeable, polite and lovely to talk to. Feed a snow leopard, and even went back another day to feed the lion and the tiger also with Claire. All three experiences were amazing.

First visit and based on other reviews I decided to visit. This is very well cared for , from the animal enclosures and surrounding area. I felt it was more for families with younger children as there is alot to keep them entertained when not walking around to view the animals. Plenty of places to sit and eat, whether your having your own picnic or buying food on site. Having different animals from the big cats, which are my favourite, to guinea pigs was a great mixture. I had never seen a sun bear before and it was truly amazing to watch. The views are great aswell as you don't always have a view of the animals behind metal fencing so you get chance to get some great pics. I was travelling on my own and it took my about an hour to walk round the entire zoo. Worth a visit, staff are very friendly aswell which always makes a visit more pleasureable.

We took our three grandchildren here at the weekend for our first visit. After reading the food reviews we packed picnic food for the kids but my husband wated to try the food there. Good points; lots of places to stop and rest/eat, bad points; food and drink pretty awful. Queued for a hot dog but was the young guy serving was so disinterested mu husband walked away in disgust. Tried the coffee - watery so don't bother if you actually like coffee.
Dinosaur park - excellent. We walked around first and were super impressed then took the train. All really well done.
Then we walked around the zoo part. The viewing is well though out with plenty of glass to enjoy views from various angles and we saw tiger, lions and leopard but NO penguins, NO gibbons, NO red panda. Where were they all? I felt they only came out when it was feeding time. We all enjoyed the rainforest area though and went in more than once.
Good ice creams and gift shop.
Not sure I'd go back although it is a good size when you have small children with you. I just expected to see more.

This was my first time visiting this zoo. I thought the overall appearance of the zoo was very attractive and you can see they have spent a huge amount of money on it recently with all the new fencing, the gibbons and the lion enclosure. The public areas and signs were really well done and fun to look at when no animals could be seen. The biggest down side was the size of the enclosures were very small for many of the animals, particularly the red panda and penguins but also marmosets, sloths and snow leopard. Hopefully, these will be upgraded next. Also, the viewing was mostly through glass. This made it very difficult to see the animals on a sunny day due to reflections. It also felt like the animals were quite boxed in with no views out, in particular the bears, penguins and jaguars. The bird show and the native species section however were really nice. A small zoo, but I spent 4 hours revisiting the enclosures in the hope of seeing everything.
