Thursday 27th February 2025 Hi , Welcome to this week's news update. With March on the horizon, did you know this is a very exciting week for stargazers? If you're interested in astronomy, you'll probably know that this week (between Feb 23rd - 28th) is your last chance to see SEVEN PLANETS ALIGN in our skies for the last time in UK until 2040! The skies are forecast to be clear again tonight (Thursday) as they were last night, and so grab a part of history while you can, because FIVE of the seven planets - Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn - are VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE! And if you have a good pair of binoculars or a telescope you should also be able to see Uranus and Neptune. One excellent facility that rarely gets a mention in our newsletters (my bad!) is our HARBOROUGH MUSEUM, located in the Symington Building in Adam & Eve Street. Here you can discover much of Harborough's history, making a fascinating day out for all the family and it's a visit I highly recommend. For example you can discover the mysteries of the Iron Age and the Hallaton treasure, the origins of the Symington building, and if you're at all 'horsey', there's currently an interesting exhibition on, called 'Horsing Around - a 2000 year old love affair' with our hairy friends. So if you are looking for something different to do, plan a day out at the museum. It's open 5 days a week from 10am - 6pm (Tues - Fri) and 10am - 4pm (Sat), and the best part - it's FREE entry!
