Thursday June 6th 2024 Hi *|FIRSTNAME|*, Thank you for opening our newsletter on this historic day, when we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Normandy landings of the allied forces this day in 1944 which changed the course of WW2. Community events are taking place across the Harborough district, the details of which can be found on the HFM website here.
Harborough District Council will lead the tributes by hosting a flag raising ceremony in Church Square at 9am. You may be aware (unless you live under a rock!), that it's CARNIVAL WEEKEND! And unlike Tuesday's 'carnival' of political debates, this one promises to be SPECTACULAR! The weather is going to be BRILLIANT ('cause Rishi Sunak says so, so it must be true? - umm!). So please check the programme of events, watch out for road closures and have a great day. But of course the fun fair is all ready, and there's plenty else to cheer about - the FARMER'S MARKET is on the Square today (Thursday); There's lunchtime JAZZ at The FOXTON INN on Friday lunchtime; Duncan's WUNDERBAR is open on Friday, and he's dressing up again (yes he is!) for his CARNIVAL FREE TASTING on Saturday!
