A recent new report, Ambition 2020: World Class Skills and Jobs for the UK which shows the importance of local businesses in maintaining UK's competitiveness, has highlighted the East of England as one of the UK's leading economies, demonstrating high employments rates and productivity.

According to the new research, published by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, the East of England currently ranks third in the Regional UK Competitiveness Index. However the report also highlights the importance and need for businesses to of Forward Planning and investment in employees' skills to help maintain a competitive edge and high productivity levels.

As a business owner or manager, there are always many competing demands on our time, money and resources but experience and evidence shows that by taking the time to forward plan for our business, set real and achievable objectives and invest in our employees, does bring reward. A business with a real strategy for growth rather than one to just survive will differentiate itself from the competition.

Employees who have the opportunity to grow through developing existing and new skills will feel more fully a part of the company or organisation, and that in turn will enhance their performance and productivity.

We are all in challenging times and everyone, owner, employer and employee has an important role to play in making Woodbridge a leading local economy in the region, it's never been more important to Buy Local.
