16th April 2012
... Comments

On Wednesday 4th April the UK's last watermill, Tide Mill, in Woodbridge reopened as a 'Living Museum' after a grant of £995,800 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The actual cost of the project is estimated at £1,227,000 and the shortfall has been made up by the Woodbridge Tide Mill trust which has done a huge amount of fundraising in order to make this possible.

The 4 tonne wheel, the last to turn in a UK watermill, has been replaced and is now turning at the Mill much to everyone's delight - a fitting celebration for truly major revamp!

A new walkway around the mill has been built and inside there are interacive exhibits, plasma screens and games to play.
