5th March 2012
... Comments

As many of you will already know, on Day 48 of its 70 day journey to the London 2012 Olympic Games the Olympic flame will be arriving in Suffolk on the Norwich to Ipswich stretch of the route.

With Suffolk residents living within 30 minutes of the route there should be an opportunity for everyone to get involved on 5th July 2012.

The relay will include Lowestoft, Wrentham, Reydon, Southwold, Kelsale, Saxmundham, Aldeburgh, Wickham Market, Ufford, Melton, Woodbridge and Felixstowe and will end the day with an evening celebration hosted in Ipswich.

Along the route many of Suffolk's important landmarks like Tide Mill and Buttrum's Windmill at Woodbridge maybe seen by tourists visiting the town.

Local residents are already planning and looking forward to the torch arriving in their towns and street-by-street details of the route should be announced shortly.
