The mystery of Beethoven`s Immortal Beloved has been brought to life through theatre and music. Mike Venables` compelling one man show - which was performed at the Arena Theatre for the Midlands Fringe on 23rd July - has live piano accompaniment from the highly talented Rebecca Weston (pictured).
The play is called Beethoven: Edge of Silence and is about to begin a national tour to mark the Bicentennial of Beethoven`s demise and you can hear all aboput his tangled love life (channelled by Mike Venables) and hear his greatest hits - Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata and loads more performed live by ther atmospheric playing of Rebecca Weston.
Music has always been an important part of Rebecca Weston's life. She began playing the piano at the age of seven and completed all eight piano grades before studying Applied Music at Newcastle College. She then went on to study Music at degree level at Lancaster University.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has combined her passion for music with a love of education, teaching piano and inspiring young people to develop confidence and creativity. She has also studied singing and has performed as a vocalist in the Crescent Theatre's annual Wassail, as well as in a variety of musical productions.
Alongside her musical career, Rebecca has appeared in numerous productions at both the Crescent Theatre and Oldbury Repertory Theatre, enjoying roles in both plays and musicals. Beethoven: Edge of Silence brings together her lifelong passions for music, theatre and performance, and she is delighted to perform the live piano score, helping to tell Beethoven's extraordinary story through his music.
