National Gardening Week
15th April 2016

Next week – 11th – 16th April is National Gardening Week.

National Gardening Week was launched 5 years ago by the Royal Horticultural Society to celebrate the nation’s gardens and all things horticultural. All week there are special events at some famous gardens through the country – Wisley, Highgrove,  Rosemoor, for example – so if you fancy a day out, take a look at the website www.nationalgardeningweek.org.uk.

The theme for this year’s week is ‘Get Fit in the Garden’ – the idea of using our gardens to improve our wellbeing.  Gardening is actually great exercise – all that bending, lifting, pushing, digging – great ways to get and keep fit for all the family.

Some local gardens will be open for people to view and, if this suddenly makes you want to get your garden in ship shape and sorted for the summer but need a bit of inspiration, advice or practical help, then we thought you might like to know that local residents have recommended three local companies who might be able to help you:
