Peace Hospice Care wins Watford BID Service Excellence Award for second year running.

For the second year running Peace Hospice Care has won a Watford BID Service Excellence Award, in the Community and Voluntary category.  The awards, which were announced at an event at the Watford Colosseum on Tuesday 20th February, were decided 50% public vote and 50% by mystery shopping.  Joanna Milton, Corporate Fundraising Manager, and Liz Kennedy, Inpatient Unit Matron, represented the Hospice at the event and collected the award.

Peace Hospice Care provides free, specialist, care for patients, and their families, facing a life-limiting illness in South West Hertfordshire and the wider area.  The charity provides support at end of life but the majority of its work focuses on supporting those with life-limiting illnesses and helping them to manage their conditions.

Speaking about the award, Declan Carroll, Chief Executive at Peace Hospice Care, said:"We're thrilled to receive the award for the second year running and thank you to everyone who voted for us.  Our staff and volunteers are so dedicated and passionate about what they do and I believe that comes across, every single day, in the service we deliver to patients and families.  This really is a fantastic recognition of their hard work and commitment and of the difference they make.”
