Welcome in December with a truly festive weekend in Watford

This coming Sunday is the first day of December and to mark the start of the most festive month of the year, Watford is going all out in terms of Christmassy treats and events.

For example, on Saturday is the Traditional Christmas event at the Chiltern Open Air Museum. From 10am until 4pm on Saturday 30th November, you can go along and see the historic buildings festooned in an array of beautiful, traditional festive decorations.

There will also be carol singing in the tin chapel, the chance to create your own Christmas decorations and treats, and the opportunity to sample festive fayre at the Museum in Chalfont St Giles near Watford.

Watford Museum is also getting into the festive spirit this Saturday with its 'Craft Christmas' event. Come along to Watford Museum on Lower High Street from 11am until 3pm to take part in a wide range of Christmas themed family workshops... all of which are completely free!

Also on the Saturday is the Watford4Watford Christmas Family Fun Day, which takes place from midday until 4pm. A fundraising event which supports Watford Mencap and Herts Inclusive Theatre, tickets cost £2 per adult with children under 15 free. It promises to be a fantastic day, filled with games, arts, crafts, bauble making, henna tattooing and the chance to meet Father Christmas!

There will also be a dance display, live music and a karate demonstration. You can even buy Christmas gifts and crafts!

Why not get out and about on Saturday evening and attend the Kings Langley Christmas Lights festival? Held on November 30th from 4pm and with fireworks in Green Park at 7pm, even the most 'Scrooge-like' person cannot fail to get into the Christmas spirit!

And now we're into December itself and on Sunday 1st, The Parent Association St Clement Danes has organised a Christmas Gift and Food Fair from 11am until 3:30pm at St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood near Watford. Lots of stalls selling arts and crafts, Christmas decorations, artisan food such as Christmas puddings, chutneys, preserves and much more!

A kids corner is also going to be there, with stalls, food and child-friendly entertainment.

Admission is £1 per adult and 50p for concessions.

And finally, the Christmas Family Fun Day at the Cha Cha Cha Cafe in Watford is well worth a visit. Taking place on Sunday 1st December from 11am until 3pm, you can sing Christmas carols with Watford Palace Theatre Choir, make your own decorations and meet Santa on his husky dog sledge at about 1pm!
