If you ever thought you'd like to learn how to draw or to paint why not get down to The Watford Museum School of Drawing and Painting ?

The school at the museum has expanded and flourished over the years and now also includes oil painting sessions every Thursday and Friday throughout the year with two classes each day.

The classes are very informal and students work at their own pace under the guidance of Watford Museum’s resident artist, Martin Smith. There's no need to worry that you might not be up to a required standard because as Martin says, " Nearly everyone who comes to the school started without any previous experience and they all achioeve an excellent standard of work in a very short time."

The timetable for classes is

  • Drawing and painting: Thursdays 10:15 - 12:15 and 1:30 - 3:30
  • Watercolour and drawing: Fridays 10:15 - 12:15
  • Oil Painting: Fridays 1:30 - 3:30

The cost is £6 per session or £11 per day, including tea or coffee. New students are welcome to join at any time and at any level of experience.

and don't forget that Martin Smith is also giving a series of art appreciation lectures on Saturday mornings from 11:00 am until 12:30 at the Watford Museum.

The lectures are just £5 each, which includes tea or coffee. Booking is essential so call 01923 232297 to reserve your place or email info@watfordmuseum.org.uk
