The Council signed the contract for the refurbishment of The Colosseum today (Wednesday 7th July). As elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said "This is the green light for the exciting refurbishment plans which will see The Colosseum restored to its former glory! I want to reassure residents that this is affordable - we have the money in the budget."
The refurbishment of the much celebrated music hall and entertainment venue will include a two storey glass front extension to provide a new box office, cafe, restaurants, toilets and office space. Access will be improved with a customer lift to the first floor along with increased seating and new lighting.
