Watford comes fifth in Herts Youth Games 2010  

A team of young people from Watford recently took part in the Herts Youth Games, achieving an excellent fifth place in the overall standings. 

Caroline Roche, Sports Development Officer for Watford Borough Council said "I am delighted with Watford's result and would like to say a big thank you to all the team mangers, volunteers and athletes for their hard work and commitment in the lead up to the games and for doing so well and making Watford proud." 

Finishing fifth with a grand total of 62 points - Watford picked up silver medals for the girls under 9’s football and bronze medals for the boys basketball and girls under 15’s netball.  

The Herts Youth Games are an annual sports event, involving over 1000 young athletes from ten local authorities across the county. Teams compete in eleven competitions including badminton, basketball, cricket, football, netball and athletics.
