As many as 2000 women will be walking through the night around Watford on May 22nd to raise money for The Peace Hospice.
This fund raising effort comes at a critical time for The Hospice who care for people with life limiting or terminal illnesses and supports their families across South West Hertfordshire.
The effects of the recession have hit The Hospice hard and they are experiencing a significant shortfall in funds. They need to raise £3 million in charitable income alone every year and are projecting a £0.5 million shortfall at the end of the last financial year. This will inevitably result in having to make cuts. In the last 12 months The Hospice provided care for more than 1000 people.
