Spirits and Spooks are heading Watford's way!

We Brits now celebrate the Halloween 'holiday' with almost as much enthusiasm as they do in the United States where it has long been considered a highlight of the year for children and adults alike.

And as long as the neighbours' welfare is taken into consideration, there's a lot of fun to be had dressing up, trick or treating with the little ones, carving pumpkins and bobbing apples.

We need something to cheer up that gloomy period when the glow of Autumn is fading and the sparkle of the festive season has not yet arrived.

So what's to do here in Watford?

Watford Museum will be hosting a free Halloween Craft Workship. Suitable for both children and adults, you can go along and make your own scary spiders and gruesome ghouls. Sessions take place from 11am til 3pm on the 27th October. The workshop is free but booking in advance is advisable - phone 01923 232297.

And brave older children and adults can head off on a Ghosts and Legends High Street Trail. This walking tour of Watford's spooky history will introduce you to some of the local ghosts and villains and is suitable for ages 8 and above. The trail is £4 per person and booking in advance is essential.

Gambado Indoor Play Centre is holding a disco with creepy fun and games between 6.30pm – 8.30pm for children and their parents and carers. Come along to this fun filled spooktacular Halloween Disco, and enjoy a fun filled 2 hour party, disco, fancy dress competition, juice and face painting. For more details call 01923 892140 or go to www.gambado.com

And don't forget to stock up your sweet jar for when the spooks come calling on the 31st!
