McDonald's Help with Community Litter Pick

A recent community litter pick by enthusiastic staff from McDonald's Garston at Woodside Playing Fields has helped to make Woodside a welcoming place to visit.

McDonald's approached the council's Parks department to ask if they could carry out monthly litter picks at Woodside Playing Fields and Garston Park. They wanted to contribute to their community and these are the nearest parks to their branch.

The litter picks will take place on the third Sunday of each month. They started at Woodside Playing Fields, with the next event on 20 May at Garston Park, then back to Woodside in June. The starting time at both venues is 3pm, meeting in the top car park for Woodside and the Coates Way entrance for Garston Park.

If you are interested in joining a litter pick, or learning more about community litter pick events where you live, please contact Community Services on tel: 01923 278333

Watford Borough Council is doing all it can to protect and enhance the town's biodiversity through it's nature conservation programme. Events include litter picks, riverside clearance and guided walks. You don't need any previous experience, as there will be an expert leader on the day and tools are provided. You are welcome to come along for just an hour or the entire morning.
