A very special drawing workshop, organised by Watford Borough Council, Watford Palace Theatre and London Drawing, has been selected as a Highly Commended entry for the Drawing Inspiration Awards, as part of the Campaign for Drawing's The Big Draw.

Competition for these awards is always fierce and with an unprecedented number of entries from across the UK and abroad in 2011, the awards ceremony at the Courtauld Institute of Art on 17 May looks set to be an exciting event.

The Saturday morning workshop - Life Drawing - which took place in October 2011 at the fantastic Palace Theatre, saw 60 adults take their seats for a mini-art class before settling down to a slice of London Drawing, Drawing Theatre magic, sketching the dramatic performance unfolding against a bold architectural stage set.

London Drawing, best known for their unique life drawing events at Tate Modern, was founded in 2006 by Anne Noble-Partridge and David Price with the aim to radically reinvent the traditional concept of life drawing.

The Drawing Inspiration Awards are presented to the most innovative and engaging events - so watch this space to see how the workshop does!
