One Watford has launched its strategic green travel plan to encourage businesses and organisations in the town to reduce congestion and to promote more environmentally sustainable travel and transport practices in Watford.
The key initiatives include encouraging employees to use public transport by the introduction for a discount travel card for staff of participating organisations, saving them 38% or more on the equivalent standard bus fare. Employers in Watford will also be encouraged to be more cycle friendly. The introduction of the Watford Commuter Bike Loan Scheme will provide free loan bicycles to enable staff to try commuting by bike for an agreed period without having to make the upfront commitment to buying a bike first.
