The Cornwell family have been funded to build an adaptable house extension for their daughter Brooke. “The impact this will have on all our lives will be amazing. Brooke will be able to become more independent and grow in a safe clean adapted environment.”

The grant will give Brooke greater independence, so she can continue to thrive and grow in a suitable environment. Her family said: “We are so pleased to receive this grant – for buying materials for Brooke’s build which includes a bedroom and bathroom.”

The Watford Community Fund provides grants to local charities and community groups as well as providing a Welfare and Distress Fund for individuals and families in crisis. We are particularly interested in supporting smaller groups, where a small grant can make a big difference.

The fund raises money through delivery of the annual Big Quiz and enabling individuals or companies to make a one-off or regular donation.  The fund is managed by Watford and Three Rivers Trust.

There are 770,000 families in the UK who care for disabled children. If you are in a situation like this or know anyone who is, don’t stay silent. For businesses, the W3RT Community Fund could not exist without your kind help.
