Get ready for Easter with the help of thebestof Watford
19th March 2013

Well, I don't know about you but having just got over Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, with the inevitable head scratching that comes with trying to think of a gift, as well as the madness that ensued when we decided it would be much more thoughtful to cook for the ladies rather than take them out, I honest can't believe that it's almost Easter!

Where have the first three months of 2013 gone? One minute we were wrapping Christmas presents and the next the shops are filled with chocolate eggs!

Anyway, enough of my ranting; as well as the obvious religious connotations, Easter is not just about chocolate – it's a couple of days off work and the chance to spend time with family and loved ones.

And officially, it's meant to be the first public holiday that we can enjoy the great outdoors, running around in the garden looking for eggs as your mother yells at you for flattening her daffodils... (or was that just my family?)

Now, I know that the weather isn't exactly warm, but there are plenty of Easter themed activities and events taking place in Watford, so why not get wrapped up and take the family along?

On Friday 22nd March 2013, the Blue Check Restaurant in Bushey, Watford, is hosting an Easter Quiz Night from 7pm until 10pm. Tickets cost £25 per person and include the quiz itself, drinks on arrival, a two course meal and coffee and mints to finish. Teams of up to 10 people are welcome, with proceeds going to the Peace Hospice.

Fancy dress is optional, but if you've got a Big Bird outfit gathering dust in the loft... go on, you know you want to!

How does an Easter Fun Eggstravaganza sound to you? Well, that's exactly what Parents Paradise in Watford has organised for Friday 29th March, from 9am until 5pm, and Sunday 1st April, from 10am until 5pm.

Marking the start of the Easter school holidays (did I hear a collective groan from the parents reading this?) there will be activities throughout the day for all ages, including an Easter egg hunt, face painting, glitter tattoos and build an Easter bunny. There will also be some very special visitors!

Normal admission prices apply and some activities will incur a small additional charge.

On Saturday 30th March, there will be lots of Easter Fun at Watford Museum! Catering for the whole family and taking place from 11am until 4pm, this free event includes arts and craft activities, as well as an Easter egg hunt.

Please note that although the event is completely free, booking is essential.

Have you planned an Easter event in the Watford area that is open to the general public? thebestof Watford would be delighted to promote any community or charity event that you have organised.
