If the slew of saccharine Christmas ads, and the draping of lampposts hadn't already alerted you: the festive season is on its way.

Cue a series of annual dilemmas: where to spend the big day, real tree or fake tree, turkey or something less dry, and - of course - what to buy as presents for loved ones with such different tastes.

Well, there may be an interesting (and affordable) answer to this: Crafty Sew and Sews are a group of talented crafters, who produce wonderful handmade goods, in Watford, using their multitude of talents: knitting, sewing, needle felting, crochet, jewellery making.

It's safe to say that anything they make cannot have the accusation 'but I know someone who's already got one!' or 'oh, I've seen that in all the shops' leveled at it.

Not only that, but they produce their hand-crafted goods only from up-cycled material donated from various sources, including their good friends at John Lewis.

Not only that (again!), but all of the funds generated from selling their goods are donated to West Watford Community Association

These funds are key in allowing WWCA to keep going; offering vital services to those in West Watford and creating community cohesion.

All of Crafty Sew and Sews work is done on a purely voluntary basis. So, not only will your gift be unique, but you'll know that the money helped materials to be up-cycled and kept a worthwhile charity going: double pat on the back for you!

You can bag yourself wonderful, unique presents - from a wide range of beautifully hand crafted gifts and goodies - on the following dates:

Saturday 16th November, 10.30am-3.00pm at St James's Church, High Street, Bushey WD23 1BD

Sunday 17th November, 10am - 12pm at Sunday Morning Market, Sarratt Village Hall, The Green, Sarratt WD3 6AS

Saturday 7th December, 10.30am - 4pm at Watford Museum, 194 High Street, WD17 2DT (in the little gallery tea room)

Saturday 21st December, 9am - 4.30pm: Watford Market, Charter Place.

Happy Christmas shopping!
