First Place Nurseries applied to build six semi-detached and two detached houses on the former site of its Radlett nursery, in Cobden Hill.

The nursery moved to Centurion House, in Watling Street (pictured right) on April 26, after the Cobden Hill site was sold.

Planning officers at Hertsmere Council recommended the application be approved at Thursday’s planning meeting, at the civic offices, in Borehamwood.

Conditions on the build include more than £113,000 of section 106 payments, cash paid by the developer to mitigate the impact of the build on the community, and building must commence within three years.
