More news arrives about Christmas shopping in Watford. In the run up to Christmas and New Year, Watford Market is opening extra days giving you plenty of time to pick up some great holiday bargains!

From Thursday 26 November, the market will be open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7am until 5.30pm.  Also from this date, the market traders are running a Christmas card competition. Children are invited to design a Christmas card, to win up to £25 in Argos vouchers. All entries receive a gift and will be on display in the market, with the winning design printed in the Watford Observer.

Entrants need to design their work on an A4 sheet of paper, with their name, age and contact details on the reverse. There are two age groups - 3-7 years old and 8-11 years old, and the closing day is Friday 18 December.

From December, the market will also be open every Sunday from 10am until 4.30pm (first half hour for browsing), until Christmas Eve, and every Saturday, between 12noon and 4pm, children can visit Santa’s Grotto to let him know what they want for Christmas and pick up a free gift.

Situated in Charter Place Shopping Centre, you’ll be amazed at what you can find in Watford’s market. With over 320 stalls under one roof from fishmongers, butchers, cheesemongers and the freshest fruit and veg, to fabric, haberdashery, clothes, glasses, hair and beauty products, football merchandise, gifts, jewellery, hats, party supplies, pet supplies, old fashioned sweets and plenty of fantastic food options should you get peckish!

The market is all on a single floor with lifts to car parks, which also provides easy access for wheelchair users and buggies. For more information visit: www.watford.gov.uk/watfordmarket or ring the market office on tel: 01923 278814 during office hours.
