The clocks have changed and it’s getting dark by 4.00pm, Bonfire Night and Halloween are behind us for another year and the leaves have changed colour and are now covering the ground.

So it’s time to start really thinking about Christmas, which is now only six or so weeks away!

The sun was still blazing when the first cards and gifts began to appear in the shops. This year's Christmas period seems to have snuck up on us a bit and even the most organised of us may still only beginning their shopping.

But with money tight everywhere, how can you save a few quid on Christmas whilst also managing to help out some great local causes?

One way is to visit one of the many Christmas Fayres and Markets in the Watford area over the coming weeks. Not only are these always a good family day out, but also offer wonderful gifts, crafts and home-made food that could be a brilliant stocking filler.

Why not take a look at some of these local events taking place in and around Watford in the coming weeks?
