Watford's Cassiobury Park has been voted one of the country's most cherished parks in the annual People's Choice Award public poll!
All Green Flag Award winning parks and green spaces were entered into the annual poll, which saw thousands of people voting for their favourites.
Because so many local people voted for Cassiobury Park it came in at number 3 in the UK Top 10!
The poll has revealed the passion that local people have for this much loved green space. As one voter put it, " This beautiful public space is not just a park, it is a place loved and cherished by our Watford Community."
Cassiobury Park was established in 1903, when Watford Urban District Council bought the first plot of land, to create a 'people's park and pleasure ground.' Watford people obviously think that this has been achieved, if the level of voting is anything to go by.
