Call for artists in Watford
29th March 2011
... Comments

Local artists are being invited to exhibit their work in a temporary pop-up gallery - The Space2 located in Unit 4 Charter Place (opposite the entrance to BHS).

The idea is to keep the town centre vibrant and to improve the overall look of Watford's shopping areas. This should encourage more visitors, improve the chances of letting any empty units and be good news for local retailers and the wider community.

The gallery will have an artist in residence and there will be a dance  performance - details to follow.

Sophie Ronson, Arts Development Officer says "We are accepting painting, drawing, prints, photography and applied arts. We are keen to show 3D work as this has not been heavily featured in the pop up programme so far."

So if you are a local artist, or you know someone who is, this could be a good opportunity to display your work. The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on the 31st March by email so time is short. There are no fees to exhibit but artists must be willing to contribute a minimum of 2 full days to the pop up, which will be open from 10am until 4pm Wednesday to Saturday the 14th April to 31st May 2011.

Artists wishing to apply should scroll down for an application form and terms and conditions.
