Peace Hospice Care’s charity shop in Bushey is set for a record-breaking Christmas in takings with weekly takings up following its re-opening after being refurbished in October.

The shop re-opened on the 25th October, following refurbishment work as part of the charity’s wider work to carry out much needed upgrading to its shops. Customers are enjoying the new look shop which is now brighter and more welcoming than prior to refurbishment.

Sarah O’Halloran, Director of Income Generation said: “The figures since the Bushey Shop’s re-opening have been great and we all hope that the Shop continues to go from strength to strength. Our Shops are very important to us as a charity and we cannot thank our customers enough for their ongoing support over the past year – donating goods and buying from the Shop. Also, thanks to our volunteers who work so tirelessly to ensure our Shops run smoothly.

We need £5 million a year to run and deliver our services and for every £1 of income we receive, less than 20p of that comes from the NHS. Money made from our Bushey Shop, and all of our shops, really makes a huge difference in helping us to deliver our services.”

Bushey is one of 11 Peace Hospice Care charity shops. The charity’s other shops are located in Borehamwood, Chorleywood, Garston, Radlett, Rickmansworth, St Albans, Tudor, South Oxhey, Watford High Street and Watford Pond. The charity also has an eBay shop. For more information about Peace Hospice Care shops, to donate goods or for Shop phone numbers, please visit: www.peacehospicecare.org.uk
