This year the University of Chester celebrates its 175th birthday and by coincidence our Warrington Campus – the former Padgate Training College – celebrates its 65th birthday. The site was first recognised by the Department of Education in 1949 and for many years was associated with the Institute of Education of Manchester University and later with North Cheshire College, subsequently Warrington Collegiate. The University of Chester acquired the site at the millennium and the Campus now operates for teaching and research in Business, Media, Sport and Public Service.
