Since its founding in 1986, Walsall Black Sisters Collective (WBSC) has expanded from a small community initiative into a trusted organisation that serves people across Walsall and surrounding areas of the West Midlands.

This is a milestone for the community to be proud of with special guests that include  Nikki Tapper MBE and Denise Lowe OBE at Bescot Stadium.

"We will remember our Windrush roots, reflect on our journey, rejoice in our achievements, and recognise the impact of our collective work over the past 40 years" said Maureen Lewis, Director and CEO of WBSC.

"This is more than a celebration" said Maureen Lewis.  "It’s legacy, connection, and the future — all in one room."

2026 marks the 40th year of Walsall Black Sisters Collective’s Charity being established. We are celebrating four decades of making a lasting impact in supporting vulnerable families, women, children, elderly, afterschool care, cost of living support, consistency, dedication and much more.

To celebrate the charity's amazing achievement, a 40th Anniversary Celebration will be held on the 4th of July 2026 at Bescot Stadium.

WBSC is a registered Charity and a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) established July 1986. Their  mission is to empower women and girls in Walsall and beyond.
