Ethan, who races Junior Rotax kart #41 for Dave Edwards Racing, spent three days at the Lincolnshire circuit from Friday to Sunday. He faced one of the toughest grids in the country, with 65 drivers in the class.
After steady progress in Friday testing, Ethan produced his best qualifying performance at PFI this year, taking P11 in his group. Qualifying at PFI is decided on an average of three laps, which makes timing and tyre preparation critical.
On Sunday, Ethan finished Heat 1 in P13. In Heat 2 he climbed as high as P5 and crossed the line ninth, setting a new personal best lap of 57.7 seconds and, at times, running as the fastest kart on track. A five-second nose cone penalty on a greasy track dropped him to P16, but the two heats were still his best combined results at the venue.
The A final brought a dramatic change in conditions. Fog, mist and rain descended, and drivers raced in the dark on wet tyres under floodlights. Starting from P23, Ethan finished P29 of 65.
"My aim is always to keep improving, gain confidence and be better than my last weekend," said Ethan. "Heat 2 was one of my best races this year. The final was really tough in those conditions, but I learnt a lot and we take plenty of positives to Shenington."
Ethan also paid tribute to the people around him: "Huge thanks to Dave Edwards and Dave Edwards Racing, my mechanic Scott Gollings, and Owen Neave, my driver coach for the weekend. Lots of lessons, data and GoPro reviews. We're building a really consistent team around me."
Ethan's season concludes at the final round at Shenington in a couple of weeks. Local businesses interested in supporting his 2027 campaign can find out more at www.ethanguestracing.co.uk
