Sonnets for Shakespeare are thrilled and honoured to have been selected to host their first online reading event at the prestigious Annual British Graduate Shakespeare Conference (BritGrad Festival) which this year takes places on Monday 14th – Sunday 20th September, 2020. The SFS event is on WEDNESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER at 7.00 pm.

Sonnets for Shakespeare is the brainchild of Walsall solicitor, performance poet and Hope Radio Birmingham presenter Ian Henery, and his friend and fellow poet, Lucy Heuschen. Together they wanted to create a project that would support the ongoing work of two great mainstays of our culture - the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

"The arts sector has suffered massive loss of income during Covid as many places rely on visitors to stay afloat," said Lucy. "We want to do our part to secure cultural opportunity for future generations. What better way than by creating an inclusive writing project inspired by Shakespeare?"

Why not check out BritGrad and while you're at it, share your own Bard-inspired writing with Ian and Lucy at the link below? You never know, you may find your work included in the Anthology!
