Bonfire night is a lot of fun for the family, although there's one member who doesn't enjoy the evening and that's your pets.

So we thought we would give you some top tips for your pets this Bonfire Night:

1. Safe Place

Provide your pet with some sort of den or hiding place inside your house where they can feel safe and calm

2. For Outdoor Pets

If you happen to have an outdoor pet, provide your animal with lots of extra bedding so that can burrow more easily

3.  Ignore fearful behaviour

Such as panting, shaking and whining. Animals may pick up on their owners' anxiety, which could make the problem worse

4. Distraction

Provide distractions, in the form of new toys and chews, during periods when fireworks are occurring

5. Mask the Noise

Draw curtains and put the TV on to mask the noise of fireworks being let off

6. Security

Make sure all windows, doors and cat flaps are securely closed during fireworks night. This will reduce the chances of your pets escaping, but make sure your pet is micro-chipped just in case they do escape
