Centenary Interfaith event- Lajna Imaillah (1922-2022)

The Women Wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association was established in 1922 in India by His Holiness Mirza Bashir-ud-Deen Ahmad(May Allah be pleased with him), who was the Community’s second Worldwide Spiritual head, to give women a voice in the administrative affairs of the community and a degree of independence.

The main aim of the Lajna Imaillah is well captured by its motto, No Nation can progress without educating their Women.

The Women wing of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK (Lajna Ima’illah) recently hosted a Centenary interfaith event on Saturday 1st October to celebrate the establishment of Lajna Ima’illah (1922-2022) at the Baitul Muqeet Mosque Walsall.

The local Mayor of Walsall, Rose Martin was also in attendance of the interfaith event and said “It was a women-only event, attended by key individuals from various organisations across the Borough. It was wonderful to learn more about the Association and to meet the Women involved.”

In memory of her royal highness, the late Queen Elizabeth II, a small exhibition was held at the event and observe  one-minute silence in her remembrance to reiterate their beliefs in abiding by the laws of the land, in which they reside in, as instated by the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (Peace be upon him).

PowerPoint Presentations were delivered on the topics such as the establishment of Lajna Imaillah & its glorious outcomes, centenary celebrations projects such as the construction of Aisha maternity hospital in Sierra Leone and planting 100,000 trees across the UK. Guests were entertained by various stalls, fun activities, and vegetarian refreshments at the event.
