Nominations highlighted staff who “go the extra mile”, “work tirelessly” and “always putting patients’ needs at the centre of their practice.”

A glittering ceremony, which took place at The Willows in Willenhall last Friday (9 October), was attended by more than 300 staff members with staff across hospital, community and Primary Care services nominated by colleagues and patients alongside their families and carers.

Hosts Keely Evans, Electronic Patient Record Operational Lead and Chair of Proud2bOps @RWT Network, and Andrew Rice, Group Head of Patient Voice, welcomed staff while steel pan drummer Jamani Stewart entertained guests as they arrived at the venue.

The 10 award categories included Rising Star Award and Research, Innovation, and Improvement, while the Sister Dora and Royal Awards enabled the public to show their gratitude for the care they or a loved one had received.

Joe Chadwick-Bell, Group Chief Executive, said: “I am proud to honour the dedication of staff who make a huge difference to the lives of patients and families, while also recognising their efforts to support colleagues – whether that be as a peer or as a leader.

“Thank you for your continued hard work, commitment and enthusiasm.”

The evening was supported by PA Consulting, Fleet Scheme and the Trusts’ two charities – Well Wishers (Walsall) and Your RWTC (Wolverhampton).

The charities hosted a raffle throughout the night which raised an additional £1515 for items over and above what the NHS can provide.
