Walsall arboretum covers a large area near the town centre with a variety of trees, plants and wildlife, with a range of walks. There is a well equipped children's play area. There is also a skateboard area, tennis courts and a bowling green. There is a nice cafe close to the lake and a fairly extensive parking area free of charge. It is a lovely place to visit and offers opportunities for exercise and a welcome change of scenery.

I have been coming to this park since I was young and brought my children here to the fire works and the classic car show and just for a picnic one of the best park in England of my opinion love it md

Quite and rather beautiful place in it's simplicity. If the weather is nice it's a great place to grab lunch on one of the siting areas/benches.

Visited today with my young son and my parents- so 3 generations of the family.

We were pleasantly surprised with the facilities at the park. It’s very child friendly with softer surfaces under the swings etc. The different sizes of play equipment meant there were so many children out and enjoying the outdoors.
Everywhere was really clean and tidy and we were heartened to see a man litter picking as well.

The Splash zone looked amazing! I only regret that we didn’t know it was there so hadn’t bought appropriate clothes for my son.

We spent time in the cafe and had some lovely lunch, with tasty food and speedy service. All credit to the staff who were very friendly.

Finally we had a walk by the lakes and spent time watching the ducks on the observation platforms.

What a beautiful place, with so much to offer. We will be back.

The main part of the Arboretum and play area is well worth a visit especially with children. However most people won't know about the Arboretum Extension, it has always been a great place for walking and exploring but a few years ago the council golf course was abandoned and planted over with thousands of trees, it's wonderful now but a word of warning take a smartphone with maps in case you get lost, a good pair of walking boots and take care not to lose the dog. If you find the steps up to the canal turn right and at the bridge turn right and follow the path back to the car park.

Lovely garden and ponds to walk around. My only complaint as I was in a wheelchair, it would be so much better if the edge's of the grass were trimmed as the paths are quite narrow. Also the dropped kerbs are a bit of a joke and we had to walk along the road of the car park to get to the pathway

We love coming to the arboretum, we come rock hunting and to have half an hour on the park, the vine weed needs getting under control it’s starting to take over in places and the bandstand needs regular monitoring as it’s been full of cans and bottles a few times recently

The Arboretum has a lake and a pool left over I understand from lime mining. Pedalos in the shape of swans are available on the lake to hire.
If you like trees and well tended gardens then this is the place to visit. This is my first visit since leaving Walsall 10 years ago and I see now that the old greenhouse has been replaced by a cafe. I have not been in but it appears well used which is always a good sign. It has a water play area in the old lido, again appears to be new equipment since my last visit. Well done to the park keepers, keep up the good work.
