I had an excellent experience with James Price Garage and genuinely appreciate their honesty. I brought my car in expecting to go ahead with a planned repair, and they could easily have carried out the work and charged me without question. Instead, they contacted me as soon as they discovered a more serious underlying issue and openly advised against proceeding, even though it meant losing out on the job.

They explained everything clearly, gave me straightforward advice, and even waived the diagnostic fee for the time they had already spent. It’s rare to find a garage that prioritises integrity over profit, and I’m genuinely grateful for how they handled the situation.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them - trustworthy, ethical and very professional.

What can I say — James Prices Garage has been absolutely outstanding. Their service was fantastic from start to finish: no rip-off costs, no excuses, no unexpected surprises. Just honest work and the best price possible.

I took my Jaguar XF with a blocked DPF, and while many garages overcharge and take advantage of situations like this by adding additional service costs - James Price Garage did the complete opposite. I dropped the car off at 2:00pm and it was ready for collection the very same day.

A special thank you to Chloe and Emma at the front desk, who were incredibly helpful, friendly, and reassuring throughout. And John, my mechanic, was open, honest, and took the time to explain exactly what he had done, along with practical advice to help prevent future DPF issues.

I am genuinely grateful to have finally found a garage that truly cares, provides fair and realistic pricing, and understands the pressures of the current economic climate. Their integrity and customer-first approach is second to none.

First class service from James, Chloe and the team at James Price! I'd taken my 2015 VW Golf GTD to a local garage when the ECS warning light came on recently and they had it for nearly a week. They'd advised me that the fault codes indicated that one of the glow plugs had failed so I said that they should proceed to replace all 4. They eventually advised me after chasing them that the plugs were seized and eventually asked me to collect the car as they didn't have to specialist tools to remove them. They said the fault codes indicated was cleared and that I should take the car to We Buy Anycar and get rid of it that weekend before the code reappeared. The car has always been maintained / serviced at 9000 miles intervals from new and I wasn't satisfied with this. I went to Johnson VW Solihull main dealership where I purchased the car and they advised that they send their cars to James Price Garage.when there are issues such as seized glow plugs. I duly contacted them via email and Chloe quickly responded, providing me with up front pricing and an explanation of what needed to be done. I booked the car in and on the day it was dropped off Chloe kept me appraised of developments. I was advised that the other garage had done some serious damage to the 4 glow plugs, threading 2 of them, taking the head off one with the final one half out. In the end it cost me £1250 to have the glow plugs changed (strip down of the cylinder head), a Terraclean and DPF service. When I drove the car upon completion (it has 125k on the clock) it runs like brand new. I've booked the car at James Price (early November) for a full service, DSG service, Cam belt & water pump replacement and a Stage 1 remap. It'll cost another circa £2k but the car is mint and will hopefully last another 100k miles (fingers crossed) as I use it as my weekly motorway mileage muncher! Chloe looked after me while I waited on the day, there was non-stop Nespresso coffee, I had the opportunity to chat to James while he was doing the work and we had a great chat. Great garage and well worth the trip over from Solihull to Walsall. Thanks all and keep up the good work!

I highly recommend this company. James did a great job on my car last week, and it's running perfectly now. I would also like to specifically thank Jenny at reception for her kind help and support in explaining the problem I had with my vehicle. Excellent service all around.

Very expensive and unexpected expense as a result failed MOT. Took days longer to repair than implied and had to chase for update. Happy with garage on whole, as is an honest and trustworthy set up.
