Franklins Removals moved everything of our 3 bed house from UK to southern France (June 2020). Pick-up was punctual at 8am and next day at 6pm all our stuff was safely unloaded 1200km more south. Drivers kept us updated about their journey. We asked quotes from several companies and Franklins service/price ratio was best. Can only recommend them.

Last week Franklins moved the contents of our French house to our house in the UK. My partner and I were highly impressed with the service they offer and would definitely recommend them. Our first contact was with Ben on the phone. He was friendly, reliable and gave us clear information about the move. He quickly earned our trust.<br>Simon and Frazer were our drivers/packers. They were faultless. Considerate, careful and efficient. We were pleased that Simon and Frazer also delivered our goods to our house where they were just as careful, considerate and efficient as they were in France.

We engaged Franklins to pack up the contents of our house in South Devon, move them to our new abode in the Ariege south of Toulouse, and install them in our new house. We are delighted with the result! Packing and unpacking were professional, nothing was damaged and the move went like clockwork. Fraser and Simon, the movers, arrived early on 5 November in Devon, found that we had more to pack than they had expected, but didn't complain, finished around 5pm and took the night ferry to Roscoff. We flew from Heathrow to Toulouse on Nov 6, rented a van to do the shuttle to our house and met up with Franklins' lorry on the morning of the 7th. Once again, the work was finished by 5pm and the crew departed in cheerful good spirits. They both worked hard all the time, and even helped us with moving furniture already in our new house so that items from the UK could take their place. One of these items was a heavy baby-grand piano. Fraser & Simon happily picked it up and moved it across the room so that our dining table could go where the piano had been. This extra furniture moving was all done without complaint and without extra charge. They were both very easy to work with, unflappable when something was difficult, even tempered throughout, and remained cheerful even after working all day in the cold and wet. We would happily use them again!<br><br>We'd like to comment on the fact that, although almost all Franklins' reviews are extremely positive, the few that are not extremely positive are extremely negative. We noticed this before deciding to hire Franklins. We also noticed that the bad reviews that we saw do not concern the quality of the work, but seemed to involve misunderstandings or poor communication between movers and customers, resulting in the movers arriving at the "wrong" address or disputes over T&Cs (eg non-refundable deposit).<br><br>We therefore took care to read the T&Cs and think about what might go wrong. We identified two possible problems:<br><br>(1) Our short (300m) access road has a 3.5 ton limit and two nasty bends, so that we may need to hire a van to do a shuttle from the village to our house on the hill. We emailed a GoogleEarth map to Ben, who agreed that a shuttle would be needed and quoted £300 for the extra work. When Fraser and Simon arrived they recounted that they had several times arrived with no warning as to restricted access, and that they had then incurred delays in finding a van to hire. We presumed (but did not ask) that such delays have been expensive to customers.<br><br>(2) Ben seemed unworried about Brexit-caused delays, but our reading of the T&Cs raised the possibility than a few days' unexpected delay could add enormous expense. We were about to suggest to Ben that he place a cap of £500 on any such additional cost, when he suggested exactly the same amount. In fact, there were no delays and our only extra expense above the original quote (note that the quote states "plus VAT") was the agreed £300 for the shuttle.

Gaz & his mate were excellent , took great care of our furniture , Ben had already advised us on how to prepare & box in advance to speed up the move out. Franklins also dismantle beds & tables etc which we could not find with other firms & they were also recommended to us by friends who had used them . They are also storing oiur furniture & bringing it up to Yorkshire in a couple of weeks time . Many thanks Guys

Two day event, packing first day and move the second. Pete, Dean and Max packed with great care and couldn’t have been more courteous and accommodating. The weather on the move was wet, but neither the weather nor the changes in the team made any difference to the professional way they worked. The cling filmed protection for the carpets was much appreciated with the wet weather! It was good to have the continuity of Pete throughout and Gary, Kieran and Fraser made a great team on day two. We would be very happy to recommend Franklins.
