1day course is designed for employees who are required to take charge of
an emergency situation should the need arise.
To give the candidate a basic introduction to fi
rst aid, covering a range of first aid
principles to follow when a more qualified first aider is not available
Following training the delegates will be able to:

Describe What to do in an emergency
Understand and demonstrate a primary and secondary survey
Correctly place an unconscious patient in the recovery position
Describe and demonstrate care of a choking casualty
and demonstrate cardio-
pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
treatment of bleeding and shock
the treatment of burns
and minor injuries
Describe and demonstrate the
correct use of
a wound dressings
Correctly apply a support sling to a patient
Recognise and treat seizures
