The legend that is Peter Dickson, otherwise known as ‘Voiceover Man’, and probably more commonly known to millions as the voice of E4 has been confirmed as the compere for the Manx Telecom Bay Festival.  The Bay Festival, which is supported by Manx Radio, will also feature live music performances by Peter Dickson’s very own band.

Noted in the entertainment world as “The Nation’s Favourite Voice”, Peter Dickson will be gracing the stage at the June festival to introduce each artist.  He will be fully compering ‘the X-Factor meets Britain’s Got Talent’ on the 20th June and interacting with the very artists he has introduced over the years.  Guests of the VIP tent will get a chance to mingle with the ‘Voiceover Man’ both before and after the shows and listen to his own unique performances put on in the tent each day.  Peter will also give his new single, a favourite of Chris Moyles from Radio One, a special launch at the Manx Telecom Bay Festival with his band the Shakettes.  The single ‘Shake It’ will be released to the general public in July.

Peter has worked on many award winning TV and radio shows over the last few decades, including “X-Factor”, “Britain’s Got Talent”, “The Paul O’Grady Show”, “The Fast Show” and many more.  He was the main promotions voice for BBC 1 TV for 6yrs, and worked on Steve Wright’s ground breaking Radio 1 shows during the 80s and early 90s.  He still has close ties with Radio 1 to this day, making guest appearances from time to time on the “Chris Moyles Breakfast Show” and “Scott Mills’ Drive time” shows.  Along with his vocal characterisation work for TV and radio, where he has voiced such infamous catchphrases such as “Come on Down” for Brucie’s The Price is Right, he has also been the voice for prestigious awards shows such as the Baftas, The British Soap Awards and was recently the voice of Sports Relief 2010.

Mr. Dickson commented, "I am delighted to be named as the official voice of the Manx Telecom Bay Festival 2010.  Even though I come from Ireland and live in England, I have never been to the Isle of Man before - in spite of having flown over it and sailed past it hundreds of times!  So I am especially looking forward to coming in June.  I am also very much looking forward to working with and seeing again all my pals from the 'X-Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent'.  Roll on June 18th!"

This scoop for the festival will no doubt provide added entertainment to the already packed line-up on Sunday 10th June for the X-Factor meets Britain’s Got Talent line-up, which includes the multi talented street dance troupe, Diversity, X-Factor finalists Olly Murs, Ruth Lorenzo and many more.

Danyl Johnson is the latest artist to be added to the Sunday line-up, and will be most remembered from last year’s programme for his incredible audition, which saw him raise the roof and have the entire audience on their feet for his rendition of The Beatles “With a Little Help From My Friends”.  The 27 year old drama and dance teacher made it to the final three in the 2009 show, before losing out to eventual winner, Joe McElderry.   Danyl replaces the 2008 X-Factor winner Leon Jackson, who has sadly had to withdraw from the festival for personal reasons.

With the festival now just eight weeks away, the excitement is building on and off the Island and with these recent additions to the line-up there is something for everyone to enjoy.  For more information on the line-up and tickets for the Manx Telecom Bay Festival weekend line-up go to www.bayfestival.im.
