Manx2 Invests In Yorkshire Connection

The Isle of Man has been promoted at the Great Yorkshire Show; online at the airport’s website; within Leeds Airport terminal, in Leeds city centre; and, most recently, with the branding of a taxi in the Manx2 livery. In addition, Manx2 has introduced fast track access at Leeds Bradford International Airport for all its passengers.

Manx2’s Chairman, Noel Hayes, said: “We are investing in raising the route’s profile, and with new fares from £29, making it more attractive to both new visitors and regular travelers, because in the current economic climate you’ve got to market more, not less. Passenger numbers on the route have been under pressure, and we are aware that, if we do nothing, there is a risk of volumes dropping.

“When things get tough you can either pull off a route, or work harder to make it a success. I’m very confident that the work we’re doing now will strengthen Leeds Bradford International as gateway to the Isle of Man. Obviously we market all our routes and we’ve recently launched a major radio advertising campaign on island but the marketing team at Leeds Bradford have been great in finding new and efficient ways of promoting Manx2 and the Island.”

Manx2 operates two return flights on the route each weekday, and one return flight on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tony Hallwood, Director of Commercial & Aviation at Leeds Bradford International Airport, said: “We view the Isle of Man as a great destination which has the potential to grow, and we are pleased to be working with Manx2 to achieve that growth.”
