Manx Gas Standing Charge To Increase From 1st January 2016

Manx Gas customers are set to see an increase in the amount of standing charge they pay as the company launches a new billing structure from next year.

From 1st January customers will be billed based on the volume of gas consumed, however they will see a decrease in the cost per unit of gas applied to their account.

The move will impact roughly 60% of Manx Gas customers, with all affected parties set to be contacted by letter.

The restructuring has come about as Manx Gas tries to recoup a larger portion of its fixed costs through the standing charge; it's estimated that those affected will only experience a small increase to their bills.
