The Junior Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be hosting the return such an inspirational and entrepreneurial character to talk to our members. This could be a perfect opportunity to host friends or colleagues or entertain clients and will no doubt be a very popular event.

Levi Roots (born as Keith Tanyue in Jamaica, 1959) is a reggae musician, chef and entrepreneur. He has performed with James Brown and Maxi Priest and was nominated for a MOBO award in 1998. He gained widespread fame after appearing on the UK television programme Dragons' Den looking for funding for his "Reggae Reggae Sauce".

Reggae Reggae Sauce is a jerk, barbecue sauce made to his grandmother's "secret recipe". Roots and his family have been using the sauce in their food stall at the annual Notting Hill Carnival since 1991. In 2006, the sauce was available for sale at the carnival, with 4000 bottles sold.

Since his last visit to the Isle of Man the sauce is now stocked in Tesco and Shoprite and Subway are marketing a "Reggae Reggae Sub"

The event will have a charity element and all funds raised with be donated to the Mayor of Douglas's Charity Fund. If you can't attend but would like to make a donation to this fund or donate a raffle prize please let me know

The cost of this event is £25. Contact Jenny Chrisitian on 674941 for details
