The Conservative Party Conference held in Birmingham last week provided an opportunity for Chief Minister Tony Brown MHK and the Treasury Minister Anne Craine MHK to put a positive spin on the Isle of Man's contribution to the global economy. Meetings included the opportunity to talk to the Chancellor George Osborne who was keen to learn more about the Isle.

Good news for the island I'm sure - there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding and suspision of the Isle of Man's role in the finance sector both in the UK and state side. Open dialogue can only lead to better understanding.
