As excitement builds ahead of next year’s Manx Telecom Bay Festival, a promotional video put together by its organisers has become a hit on You Tube!
Called ‘Bay Festival 2010’ and set to the Chicane track ‘Saltwater’, the film takes a look back at the highlights of 2007’s Peel Bay Festival including appearances by Sugababes, McFly, Ronan Keating, Robin Gibb, Madness and The Who, and ends in Nobles Park, the new location of the event next year. It also includes stunning aerial footage of the Island at break-neck speed (you’ve been warned!), visiting the bays of Peel, Port Erin, Castletown and Ramsey before ending up in Douglas.
So far more than 6,000 people have pre-registered on the Bay Festival website to receive exclusive news ahead of anyone else, including being the first to find out which artists will be playing in the Isle of Man between 18th and 20th June next year and get their hands on tickets. However, organisers are keen for more people to sign-up.
Festival Director, Jonathan Irving, commented: “Watching the video that has been uploaded onto You Tube really brought back the excitement I felt in 2007, as well as some fantastic memories. It is a really great feel-good piece and highlights exactly what a spectacular show the Isle of Man is capable of hosting.
“With the artist line-up we are currently working to secure for 2010, the Manx Telecom Bay Festival will be even bigger and better than 2007, and an event everyone will want to be a part of. I would encourage people to visit the festival website or log onto You Tube and watch the video – and make sure they pre-register!”
