Summer Ball, Casino Night & Many Fun Activities
To Celebrate 25 Years Of Hospice Care
Douglas, ISLE OF MAN, 19 May 2008 -- Manx-registered charity, Hospice Isle
of Man, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a full calendar events
open the whole Manx community.
"For 25 years, Hospice Isle of Man has provided free, specialist palliative
care for everyone in our community who needs it - care not available
through the NHS or any other source," says Tina Lawton, fund raising
manager, Hospice Isle of Man. "To celebrate this significant milestone,
we've come up with a schedule of events that offers something for
everyone."
Sunday 25 May, 12 noon - 4pm - Sponsored dog walking event, Paws in the
Park, will be taking place both within the Hospice grounds and in
Millennium Wood.
Friday 6 June, 1:30pm - The Battle of Britain memorial flight display,
reception and lunch in aid of The Diana Princess of Wales Care at Home
Trust, at the Douglas Head apartments.
Saturday 7 June - James Bond themed casino night, sponsored by the South
African Society at the Mount Murray Country Club.
Saturday 14 June - Hospice's main summer event, The Hospice 25th
Anniversary Summer Butterfly Ball, Mount Murray Country Club, Viscount
Suite.
Wednesday 18 June, 12pm - Annual general meeting at Nobles Hospital.
Saturday 21 June - The Hospice Isle of Man participates in the Parish Walk.
Thursday 26 June, 12 noon - Mid Summer Lunch and raffle at Glen Helen Lodge

Also, throughout TT fortnight collection globes will be placed around the
Sea Terminal and Ronaldsway Airport, so that visitors to the Island can
donate 'spare change'.
Hospice Isle of Man depends upon the donations to provide a very broad
range care and services - not only in the Hospice but also in the community
and patients' homes. The team is made up of a large number of health
professionals, staff and volunteers who provide the highest standard of
care 365 days a year.

The Hospice Isle of Man must raise £3m in donations each year towards
operational costs. Although the DHSS provides £500,000 in funding annually,
the Hospice relies on private donations to redress the balance.
