Bradford & Bingley International To Greet Customers At Island Post Offices
Douglas, ISLE OF MAN, 03 November 2008 - Customer service associates from
Bradford & Bingley International (BBI), an one of the island's foremost
savings banks, will be on hand at post office branches across the Isle of
Man to meet and greet customers throughout November, it was announced
today.
Since last April BBI and the Isle of Man Post Office have teamed up to
offer counter service in nine Isle of Man communities and the alliance has
proved popular as people can now pay in cash and cheques and make cash
withdrawals up to £250 per day from their BBI account from their own
communities.
"Bradford & Bingley International has always made serving the Isle of Man
community our top priority. In recent times there have been many changes in
the global banking industry but our focus remains the same, giving Isle of
Man savers the highest standard in service," explained John Pearson,
managing director. "This initiative will see our team spending time in
nine Island communities to meet people and answer any questions they might
have about our company and the services we provide."
On Monday 29th September Bradford & Bingley International, along with the
Bradford & Bingley plc savings business, became part of Abbey and the
Santander Group. The move makes the Isle of Man operation part of one of
the ten largest banks in the world by market capitalisation with 70 million
customers worldwide.
John Pearson explained, "This has been a big change over a relatively short
period of time and I'm pleased to say that the changes only go to
strengthen what we have here in the Isle of Man. Our customers can have
confidence in the experience of our staff on the Isle of Man, benefit from
our range of savings accounts and gain peace of mind from the backing of
Santander with its S&P AA rating."
