Where do I start? We have 2 dogs - a 20 year old Springer/Lab cross and a 13 year old pure Springer. We were recommended to Mr & Mrs Bannister and went to see them and their kennels. The first thing that strikes you is how CLEAN it is and the total absence of any smell. Mr Bannister is very impressive, he is open, honest, knowledgeable and accommodating. When he walked through the kennels you could see the rapport he has with the dogs - yes they were barking but all came to greet him, with tails wagging, as he walked past. He was reluctant to accept Ben (the older one) due to his age but we persuaded him to meet Ben, who is still very active and he was then agreeable to the 2 dogs staying with them for 2 weeks. Neither of the boys had ever been to a kennels before and, whilst we "wondered" how they were getting on we were never worried. Mrs Bannister dealt with the paperwork side of our booking and see was quick, friendly and very informative. On our return we collected the boys - it was wonderful, Mr Bannister had obviously spoilt them rotten and now referred to Ben as "My Mr. Ben". I have no knowledge of what happened in those 2 weeks - what I do know is that both dogs gave Mr. Bannister a genuinely affectionate farewell, "sulked" for days afterwards and had obviously been treated incredibly well. My parents ran a Kennels & Cattery in Mallorca for 20 years and I, more than many others, know the hard work and dedication involved in this choice of work. Mr & Mrs Bannister remind me of my parents - totally dedicated to the welfare of their charges. Recommended - seems such an unsuitable term - of course I recommend Cottage Kennels & Catery, who wouldn't. But I would like to say a "heartfelt" thank you to both Mr & Mrs Bannister. Their kindness and professionalism publically acknowledged here. They obviously have a vocation, love what they do and are excellent at it. Thank you both and the boys WILL be back.
