West End star takes to the Telford stage

Casualty actor, winner of BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do and star of West End musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Lee Mead is heading to Oakengates Theatre @ The Place in October to entertain the audience with a set of fabulous songs from musical theatre of old.

Lee burst into the limelight when he caught the eye and hearts of the public in 2007.  He auditioned for, and went on to win, the hugely popular BBC series ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and a six month contract to play Joseph in the West End hit musical ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’.

After 600 performance as Joseph, Mead performed the role for the last time in January 2009.

Lee is now about to release his fourth album ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, which is sure to provide some stunning material for the tour in October.

Take a journey back to the time when fabulous MGM films and musical theatre shows of the 1940 and 1950s thrilled audiences around the world.

Enjoy beautiful songs like ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ from the 1958 film ‘South Pacific’ and ‘I’ll see you in my Dreams’ from the 1940s film ‘Kitty Foyle’.  Enjoy the foot-tapping title song from the Gene Kelly film ‘Singing in the Rain’ and many other musical surprises from this golden age.

Lee brings this enchanting era to life with haunting melodies and lyrics which are certain to delight his audiences around the country.
