Our Managing Director, Mark Simmonds, along with a group of 10 others is cycling 200km from the coast of Whitehaven to the coast of Tynemouth Beach

They are taking on this epic challenge to raise funds for a local girl, Kelli Smith.

Five year old Kelli has Neuroblastoma; a cancer of nerve cells involved in the development of the nervous system and other tissues. After being diagnosed at only 6 months old Kelli went through gruelling chemotherapy and was operated on… eventually she was given the all clear and her family were delighted.  However, this was short lived as 6 months later Kelli’s consultant confirmed a relapse of Neuroblastoma. Kelli is currently undergoing a re-staging of disease which involves bone marrow aspirates, bone biopsies and various scans. All of which Kelli needs to be put asleep for due to her age.

There is no treatment protocol in the UK for relapsed Neuroblastoma, however there are options available abroad. Sadly these treatments could cost in excess of £500,000.  Please help us to make this treatment possible and support Mark in his challenge at www.justgiving.com/simmondsmark

Thanks so much
